HOW TO HAVE AN IMPECCABLE PEDICURE

Summer is just around the corner and it’s time to take out all of your favorite shoes. But, we all know that the most important detail when wearing those summer sandals is having a healthy, beautiful pedicure. This is why we prepared a few tips on how to keep your pedicure impeccable (let’s face it, unkempt toenails aren’t really sexy).

1. INVEST IN A SALON PEDICURE

You should invest in yourself and get a professional pedicure. Summer is the perfect time to start pampering yourself a little. A professional pedicure means treatment for your toenails, cuticles, but most importantly your heels! Heels become dry and cracked, regular maintenance will keep the damage down to a minimum making them look as healthy as ever. You can choose any kind of polish you want, and it will last you a long time, so you won’t have to worry about it for a while.

2. MAINTAIN IT AT HOME

Taking care of your pedicure at home is just as important as getting a professional one done. That being said, trim your toenails when needed and make sure you don’t cut them too short. Take care of the cuticles, they are sensitive and need attention. If you see any dirt caught under your toenails, swab it off with the help of a wooden stick.
If you want that natural shine for your pedicure, then skip colorful nail polish and instead apply a coat of clear polish after every shower. Also, in case you’re using regular nail polish, don’t forget to apply a base coat to prevent the yellowing of the nails.

3. WEAR COMFORTABLE SHOES

We all love wearing a pair of beautiful strappy heels, especially when paired with a dreamy sundress. However, you should limit the days when you wear those kinds of (mostly) uncomfortable shoes. They are usually the culprit when it comes to getting blisters. Because our feet swell and get sweaty during the hotter days, stick to wearing your strappy heels and sandals on cooler summer days. Your feet will thank you, and your toenails as well, for preventing all the redness and swelling.

4. DON’T GO BAREFOOT

It’s the perfect time to go to the beach or pool! However, restrict yourself from going barefoot there. You will risk getting all kinds of cuts, germs and maybe even stubbed toes if you do so. And nobody wants and infection! Your best bet is to get a pair of flip flops so you will keep your feet and manicure safe.
